Hi again the enclosed link explains why designs were changed eg the cover which you have removed.

It may work for you but you may find it will get dirty very quickly.

It's good to see what you have done though

    Hi,

Could you explain how this makes the car more powerful and responsive please?

I'm struggling to understand. By removing the mesh infront of the sensor I'd guess it'd cause ever so slightly more air to flow over it, although I’m sceptical about this. But even if it did allow more air over the maf, wouldn’t this just trick the ecu into thinking more air is coming into the engine than there actually is, so it would overfuel and run slightly rich? This would almost certainly cause a drop in power and an increase in fuel consumption.

I can see this mod having a similar effect to lowering the afr slightly, which I know from experience messing with old cars where you could adjust the afr this is a pretty bad idea unless you have a means of measuring the emissions there and then. Perhaps you could run the car like this for a few weeks and then post up some pics of your spark plugs? I’d be interested to see them.

    Cheers,
    Leon

Rich gives power on diesels, all the way up to massive black clouds of soot.
Most diesel tuning is limited by the smoke or the transmission strength.
