    Hi,

Been looking around for tunning the exhaust on my E39.

The 520/523 use two manifolds with two down pipes going into a single cat.

The 528 use two manifolds with two down pipes going into two seperate cat's (one for each pipe) which further along comes together into one pipe like the 520/523

My question is the 528 better ? Does it flow better and would fitting it offer any benefit ?

    Thanks

Yep, go for a twin pipe set up if you can find it.

It'll be a far bigger difference in just that compared to any Backbox.

What benefit will i get from it ?

My current exhaust has a aftermarket backbox on it, twin tail pipe stainless steel - would like to take it over to the replacement.

It might transfer over, but the better the pipes, the easier it is to clear the gasses out of the engine.

It should do - plenty of space to cut it and weld new, the back end of the exhausts are the same it's the front end's which appear different.
