Oh good, no tiresome soldering. That'll speed up the turn around! I take it the numbers you will need are in the picture I attached?

Do I order through your website? How soon can you get them to me?

this sounds like something i'd be seriously interested in, what sort of gains would be had from this mate? is it £65 posted and just plug and play, no other mods needed?

By the looks of it, I'd probably need you to open the ECU, and check the numbers on the top of the chips. I can often cross match the BMW numbers, but I can't get a definite match at the moment.
There are 3-4 different software versions that could be used.

Another slight stumbling block is that I've only got one of the chip left blank, they come in 13s, and there isn't too many cars that use it
I'm about to order some more in, so it'll be 3-4 days before the chips arrive

You'd get about 35-ish bhp, and 60Nm torque.
That's why diesels are very popular for tuning as they get big results compared to the petrols.

It's all plug and play, and because it can control the boost, it's a lot cleaner than the tuning box stuff (there wouldn't be a tuning box in this case, mind, as it's not a commonrail) as tuning boxes just add the extra fuel but no extra boost to avoid the smoke.

ive still got an engine swap to do before i'd order it anyways, but with gains like that from simply a chip its definitely something i'd be doing.

Yep both cars got 218...One was an M50 non VANOS with decat exhaust and Dave-F and the other (mine) was an M50 VANOS block with Dave-F but standard exhaust with an M3 back-box.......

I got on of TheEnd's chips in mine-possibly the best £60 I've spent on the car-can't recommend one of his chips enough

It's diesels like that that make a lot of people say there is no point in remapping / chipping a petrol car.
When they see 40-50bhp gained on a diesel, but only 10-15 on a petrol engine, some people expect massive power on everything.

In reality, it's just that diesels are incredibly lucky to gain so much, rather than petrols being unlucky!

I thought that the petrol figure given was rather impressive from just a tunning chip. Turbo engined cars I can understand as the boost is increased along with the fueling but to get those gains from just tweking the fueling and ignition maps is pretty good going. I might have to take a look at one of these induction kits to see if I can make something similar. The exhaust will be remaining standard to keep the car within noise regulations at race tracks (this one is a 'real' race car as opposed to a tarmac terrorist).

Right, had my ECU apart today and found the two chips under plastic covers as you said. The numbers on them were:

    Chip 1
    2 537 355 473
    0 281 001 183

    Chip 2
    2 537 355 474
    0 281 001 183

    Smiler.
