Hi, i'm not sure where is best to put this but this sub section seems to be appropriate.

I bought my 2005 330ci about a month ago and within the first couple of weeks i took it to BWtune. I was expecting a bit of an increase and an increase in throttle response to match. The car was booked in for a Saturday morning and due to me getting the wrong address i arrived a bit late which to their credit they didn't seem too bothered about! The service i received from Jason and his family/mechanics was fantastic. I could ask them any question about my car and an informative answer would be produced (as it was a new car and my first BMW there was a few!)

The car was put on the dyno and checked to see what it was producing. It was slightly down on power as you can see from the graph below, this wasn't too much of a shock to me considering the age and i thought it was quite normal. After downloading the ECU file and going away to tweak it, the new map was applied to my car. Once the transfer was complete more dyno runs were performed with the best shown below, myself and even Jason were surprised by the results. His comment was he hadn't seen this much gain out of a 330 before and i was very happy seeing a 20hp gain along with a fairly high increase in torque! This could have been down to the fact it was down on power to begin with or errors etc but still it was an impressive result.

I then took the car for a quick test drive around where the garage is located and immediately noticed a difference. After using it for a couple of weeks and allowing the ECU to adapt I can say I am over the moon with the results. There is a noticeable increase in power and when i put my foot on the throttle there is an almost immediate response compared to how it was originally. I would gladly make the same purchase in the future and if i buy another BMW it will certainly be making a trip to Jason and his team. Value for money is excellent.

Once again thank you very much and here are the results:

Can someone explain the "dip" around 4000 rpm? I see this a lot on 330i graphs.

It was explained to me as the vanos system activating.

If you dont know what vanos is - basically a valve that opens up to allow more air in. So if that valve didnt open it would carry on going down, however once it opens it goes back up again. I've seen smoother than mine but im not complaining!

    and thanks

is it possible that the map can be worked over to adjust the cam timing a little to remove the dip?
i'm thinking of getting this done to mine, but i live in blackburn, lancashire and going down for a map will empty my wallet in fuel before i get there.

Hi, I saw a graph of another 330ci when i was there and that didnt have as "severe" dip as mine so i guess its a bit hit and miss. With more tweaking it may be possible but unsure if Jason would charge more for tweaks after applying his map. Will have to wait and see if he replies or you can try and pm him.

Yeah that's quite a distance! Think they offer some kind of flasher they can post to you but then not sure how custom to your car it would be. Plus no dyno which is a nice bonus.

Some 330i have this dip and some don't
I would need a car in for a few days to try and pinpoint this
Would 1st try software update, check the disa valve and so on as well as some adjust ments to the mapping files

We offer a Flasher tool to remap cars that are not near us
We only use the read from the car and custom modify that read
We can offer a aggressive tune and a Our normal tune for more mpg which our Flasher will hold so you can swap tunes when needed
