Hi guys,, new to the forum and to BMW's. i have an e90 and think the halogen lights are boring and dull and not all that good at night either. i was wondering if i went into halfords and got some xenon lights (h7) and put them in they will work. or do i need some other hardware or if i need to change any other components. i have a friend who has a merc and he fitted some and said the plastic light covering started to melt will this happen to mine? sorry for basic questions but im just starting out!

Firstly don't go halfords! They are just way too expensive.
Although I have never seen what has happend to your mates lights I have heard of it happening on a very few occasions & this was mainly down to people fitting 100w bulbs! NOT road legal!!!
    I have recently purchased some H7 xenon bulbs from BriteLightLEDs.co.uk - LED/SMD/HID/Xenon
They are really great and at affordable prices so you might want to give them a go. Oh and I am in no way affiliated with them, just sharing some info as they were good for me.

Oh and if I had of been bothered to wait a couple of weeks, they have a new range coming out which are still road legal but brighter light.
