had a browse through some of the threads on here and it seems that the most common option is a remap. mine is a 177 bhp variant so what could i expect in terms of gains?
I will also be adding a k&n element and possibly in the future look into an exhaust system and decat. is there anything else out there to make my car a bit more special.
Decats and DPF removal can help, but you'll still be able to get substantial improvements with them remaining.
210-220bhp would be an middle range remap, but more could be made, especially with things like the decat pipe and no DPF.

No need to change the airfilter, OEM one is huge and K&N ones can clog up the MAF sensor, either way there is no power benefit to be gained by doing it.
cheers mate, i have to say,i read your project thread the other day and your car is looking lovely.
I have booked myself a remap for the beginning of next month so that gives me time to get the egr removed as well as the dpf
So, i decided to hold back on the remap as i wasn't 100% confident in the product. Im hoping BW Chiptune can quote me happy Guys, if you read this feel free to pm me a quote to remap my 525D
Hi you will be looking at an extra 40-45 bhp with extra 80-100nm proven on a dyno dynamics rolling road
You will also get an extra 3-4 miles per gallon more
