    Hi guys,

I'm fairly new to the forum, and I have a few questions about tuning a 525i. I've had tuned cars in the past (, so I have a bit of an idea what can be done

I've got a 2006 525i with 65k on the clock and was wondering what tuning options there are and what kind of gains I could expect to see. Like from bolt on mods, exhausts, induction kits, turbos? Superchargers? etc and from a map to suit and so on. I've had a look around and it all seems to be diesels or 535's being mentioned a lot. Is that because the 525i isn't very tuneable? It's a great car to just cruise about in, but it just feels a bit sluggish, you have to push it hard to get some poke from the engine.
Any info, links and advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm down the south east do if anyone can recommend any decent indys or tuners to use or enquire about that would be great.

    Thanks all!

    Hi dave,

I'm also in the same boat as you except I have the LCI 530i, after much research myself there is'nt much bolt-on mods which are worth doing to the BMW 6-pot engine which is already quite highly tuned from factory anyway. The only real performance gain to be had is like you already mention Turbo, Supercharger (this is the route I took when I turbo'd my all motor), The only thing I would consider fitting is a REMUS performance backbox to, apparently this is a good one for a more sporty sound without the dreaded droning you get with other makes of exhaust.

There is cheap mod on the 5Series.net forum which I'm about to consider doing, it's basically activating the "SPORT" mode program, this is a secret hidden feature available on all E60 without programming or any additional hardware, have a read on the url link below.
