    Hey guys,

I'm toying with keeping my 330d rather than spending 10-15k on a 335d since i cant really warrent spending that much money on something i only use for about 30miles a week.

I'm just wondering what other 330d owners have done to improve their car.

Things i may be looking at:

    Full Stainless system
    uprated intercooler
    performance map
lower 30/20 (still want comfort but better handling than atm)

As previously said, what have you done and what differences have you noticed?

All the items you have listed will be of great benefit to the car. With the exhaust, do yourself a favout and don't ditch the CAT otherwise it is possible that next year you will end up failing the mot it new rules go ahead.
I can obviously help you out with a remap if you want to get in touch.
Have you removed the swirl flaps yet? if not, do it.
If you haven't checked the oil breather recently, then do that and replace if needed.
If you're going the lowering route, then how about spending a little on some new bushes?
What about some wheel spacers & a full alignment check?
Just a few things to look into.

Cheers, i havent checked the breather i need to look into that asap, i hear it's a quick job.

I don't have to do the swirlies cos they didnt have them on mine apparently.

Yeah i'll be doin the bushes too.

How come i'd need spacers? My wheels sit nicely, just my car rides a bit soft and wallowy heh.

Just put a set of Ebiach lowering springs on mine (mine already had sports suspension) made in a nicer drive Flater through corners but rides nicer than before well chuffed, and the front sits a nice bit lower without looking daft!

Get the breather checked out! you know it's linked to premature turbo failure http://essexturbos.co.uk/EssexTurbo-BMW.pdf

Only real thing I've done is disable the EGR which makes mine more responsive from lower down the rev range

Sorry I didn't even look at the year of your car when saying about the swirl flaps.
    Beather is a quick job.
You don't NEED spacers, just thought you may want to look at them as they do give the car a slightly better stance. But if your happy with how it is then forget what i said
Allard motorsport do a bigger IC for the 330D and it comes with slim line fans for around the £400 mark (don't quote me on price)
As your car is approx 11 years old it might be worth checking your hoses for wear and tear and even replacing if needed with silicone pipes. The boost hoses may look OK but feel them to see how spongy they are, if they are spongy then they MIGHT very slightly collapse. This is a another reason why people upgrade to silicone pipes (you probably knew that though).

yeah ive seen that IC - that'd be the one i'd look at getting, i think it's circa 450.

Aye hoses become a pain to change though, dont they?

I can't afford to do anything else til next month now just bought a fking holiday for big bro's wedding in Rhodes lol

I dont know if this video is dodgey but this guy has replaced his turbo with an X5 turbo (i thought they were the same?) and he recons about 20hp difference...

    0-62 in 5.4seconds.

^^ the 10 year newer 286bhp 335d doesnt even do 0-62 that fast man. The only thing id bother with is a remap, sod the rest its not worth the hassle. I fannied on with mine and one thing led to me changing another thing which made me replace something else etc etc. The end result? A headache, a car never out of the garage and a new 330d minus 15 grand.

Just had a quick look on the old map and you're about 3hour drive from me, so might be a little far for you but then think of the drive home after the remap!
I'm here if you need me
