It might actually be quicker, it'll have similar if not more BHP, and more torque, but the gearing and revs may make it harder work to get better acceleration out of it.

The MPGs will obviously be higher too!

I can't say how it compares to a 330i but I have a 330D 184 bhp which has been remapped. The remap has made a big difference, smoother loads more torque, revs a bit higher ( doesn't run out of steam way before red line as diesels normally do). No problems with acceleration especially roll on to overtake

Going to work and back mixed driving it still returns 40-42 mpg

Damn, talk like this tempts me even more .

Does the power still come on at ~1500 RPM or does it start further up?
What revs does it run out of power at? Oh & what are your bhp & torque figures?

Bear in mind the 330d's will be more expensive to buy then 330s, I just had a very quick & rough look in autotrader & I would say roughly £500-£1000 more.
What sort of mileage are you doing?

From when I had my own 204bhp model 330d which I promptly remapped. I had let a few custmers out in it to see what they thought, especially customers that had 3.0L petrols. They all wished that they to had a diesel instead. Although obviously not revving as hard as a petrol, it had enough torque which would pull it up through the mph quicker. Come see me for a remap if your only in portsmouth.

What's the boost increased from & to on a 330d remap?

Can't remember what the standard boost is, but it is only raised around 200-300mbar generally. But this does depend on exactly the kind of map that you go for.

P.S. April specials has only 5 days left guys

That's 15.6k/yr for 300/wk, definetly cheaper in the long run to run the 330d than the petrol (assuming you keep it for longer than a year anyway)

If you do get a 330d be sure to de-flap the inlet manifold (if it has them) & change the oil seperator (breather filter).

    I do ~17k/yr & my latest calculation showed I'm saving ~£900/yr vs my e46 325i auto.
