    Hi all,

I've recently carried out a few mods to my car I have an e46 touring sport 184bhp 330d. My mods include:

    Decat down pipe (Eco tune)
    Egr delete
    Remap
    Front mount intercooler (universal one)
    6 speed box conversion

Car is serviced very regularly and well looked after. It was remapped last week and made 208bhp and 358ft/lbs of torque.
The car definitely goes better now but I can't help but think I should have got slightly more bhp? I know a big diesel is all about torque and my torque output is pretty good but I just wandered if anyone had any input or a similar experience? The car pulls well but it just feels like it has more to give if that makes sense? The tuner said the bhp was down a bit but he didn't seem concerned as the torque was up? I am wandering whether I have a small boost leak (although I can't hear anything) could this cause low bhp and high torque?

I hope someone can help and any advice is much appreciated. I would upload the dyno graph but can't as my camera is bust on my phone! The tuner has said if I'm not happy he will try adjusting things again for me.

I look forward to your responses thanks!

We've got the same engine diamonde30 and from all the figures I've seen quoted, 220bhp and about 490Nm is roughly what we should expect from a safe remap on the standard engine.

358 lb.ft is 485Nm so the torque would seem right if you didn't have a decat or FMIC.

Possibilities: six speed gearbox is limiting the power output, FMIC is restricting airflow (might be worse than standard intercooler) or the tuner didn't push hard enough, or there's a fault somewhere

Different tuners different gains also where u have your dyno gains will vary u might go somewhere else and it make 208+bhp or less

Search some threads their 330d's getting close to 300bhp with vortex turbo + remap

Power on this engines comes from maf or maf remap.
Bad maf with normal remap wont make power and it happens a lot on this 30d engine/ecu.

Thanks for all your replies I did suspect the maf. After driving it for a few weeks now I have noticed if I put my foot down slower on the accelerator pedal rather than flat to the floor the car seems to pick up better. Could this be an indication of a faulty maf?

    Thanks

It would be best to get the car checked over correctly
I can dyno test the car with your air mass and test or new air mass fitted and tested as well
We also do diagnostics and can update the cars software for the new type air mass if a new one is needed
