A K&N might eventually prove problematic as the oil on the filter can transfer down the line to the sensitive and expensive MAF sensor,
I think Pipercross do a performance panel filter thats unoiled.

what about a Dave F induction kit?

There are 4 Forum Approved Tuners but afaik only Emaps in Scotland, they all have a rock solid reputation and competitive prices.

How many miles has she done?

At 80k+ she's going to want some work on her legs (suspension). - just gave mine a set of coilovers to replace a borken shock, needed bushes, topmounts etc too.

I'm in the same boat as you mate - even moved from the same car, but I don't really think there is any point in getting a N/A car mapped. The gains just aren't there to be had. I've looked at exhaust's induction kits for mine and the general consensus has been don't bother...

As Foolishbean says you might be better dropping her and working on the handling.

If you do get an exhausst, map and filter please post about the results because I;m sure plenty of us on here would be interested.

I'm here for a good time not a long time

    Doh.. Already got the k&n..

Exhaust... Spoke to guy in. falkirk who done my exhaust for the astra, he thinks just doing back box should help.. Putting the later, staggered tail pipes on..
Dastek quoted £250 for map and 2 power runs on dyno.

Sorry to correct you, but there are noticable gains to be had on these when you know what needs mapping. We normally see around the 18bhp and 22Nm mark on these but the real difference is in the actual driving of the car after its been mapped, as it just feels so much different with power coming in earlier and tailing off later. Flat spots are history and it'll just want to go.
You really need to come and experience a map for yourself and I'm only in Kent

What's the price me old china? I need to replace my stolen parts first though, but you you might be able to tempt me away from an alloy refurb if you can get me over 250bhp
