I'm interested in views on what you guys have on your 330's. I've searched for threads but none are specific to the 330 E46.

I've have lots of varying advice from 'stick with you're orginal exhaust its far superior' but I'd like a deeper bassier exhaust note.

I've searched you tube endlesly with my headphones plugged in my lugs.

Scorpion have been recommended but I can't find a sound sample.

UUC TSE3 seems sought after but I think the neighbours would begin to hate me revving that up every morning and driving down the street for work. sorry I don't know how to embed vids

Remus PowerSound, nice drive by sound but seems a little too loud although I know they can be adjusted

I like this Eisenman exhaust note. not raspy at all bassy and smooth.

But for me this is the daddy, an AC Schnitzer although other mods are listed too

Oh, and I also have my heart set on 4x76 tailpipes.

    Thansk for any opinions

I think I prefer the look and sound of the UUC - wonder how much that would cost

Don't worry about your neighbours, they'll get over it. Mine hated me for a while (i have a scorpion) but now they say they don't even notice it.

I would go for UUC as that sounds fapping gorgeous

I see the appeal with the extremeness of the UUC TSE3, and massive thanks for contributing to the thread, but for me I just think it's too damn loud. I'd be looking around for an L reg Supra turbo if I heard that behind me not a german car.

for example guys, listen to this E92 M3 bearing in mind its packing a V8 up front.

And now go back to the Ac Schintzer vid

You have to agree they're not worlds apart.

I really love this type of engine note. The mods listed in the 330Ci vid are ACS exhaust, Supersprint headers and midpipes, Superchips ECU and Intake kit. Would these in addition to the exhaust be essential for the sound or just additions for performance.

This is my first foray into tuning 'proper' cars.

    Thanks

come on lads. How do I get my 330 sounding like this one. Is the exhaust and perhaps intake all it takes or do the other mods mentioned affect exhaust note too?

Ps, I'd like to add that I've trawlled countless BMW forums (most of them American) and replies range from ..

'you noob, this is impossible' to 'ha buy an E92 M3 then'.

so thanks again for the opinions so far here.

I'm getting the sneaky feeling that the other mods listed in addition to the exhaust contribute to the bassy smoothness of the exhaust note..... hmmm.....££!!!!

I'm in the same boat as you - I have a 330i that sounds tame. Well, it sounds a little better now it's running properly (a duff exhaust cam position sensor will not only dampen power, it'll change the note too). As well as that, on the touring at least, there's a vacuum-actuated butterfly valve in one of the rear pipes which doesn't help things - this is now disconnected on mine

The Milltek system would be my choice - their stuff is ace quality, and at £400 not too badly priced. As & when I have the spare money (or spy one 2nd hand somewhere)...
