    Hi,

I'll be completely honest and say that I know next to nothing about the ins and outs of 'under the bonnet'.

I love my 2001 330 however it's an auto and is damn expensive to run and I am going to have to get rid of it at a loss, unless I can find someway to improve its thirst.

Is an economy remap worth it on the engine in this model? What could I expect to gain from one? And how much might one cost?

    Any advice welcome,

    Thanks

What engine Diesel or Petrol. If Petrol won't be any good. Diesel will be slightly better but at a cost of £250-300 it will take you a long while to recoup and then start seeing any gains.

Yeh petrol sorry. Thanks for the advice.

Looks like i might have to sell it privately and hopefully get enough to buy another less thirsty bmw. Fingers crossed

i run on an aggressive remap and it's no worse on fuel than before, in fact a little better on a run with loads more "shove".
however i have yet to try the economy map, but would expect to see it being 3-5mpg better.
    which is over 10% better.

lot of money for very minimal gains IMO, if ya prepared to spend the dosh then try it but dont expect a miracle...want better mpg get a manual i never drop below 30-32 mpg on mine mixed with a fair amount of motorway with minimal hoodlum driving...
330i sport a big chunk of berlin...
