    COuldnt really move it by hand though
    the vaccum will be closed with the engine off so the second pipe will be open, it stays opens when you first start the car before closing. then it'll open again over a certain point in the rev range (cant remember what). Lots of people take the vacuum pipe off and block it up with a tee so that its always open.

    Hi mate, whats wrong with oiled filters ??? K&N and so forth ?? Just put one in my 328i ?

    Oiled filters can send droplets of oil onto the maf sensor and stop it working correctly

    The air filter you put in, is it a panel filter or an induction kit?

    the induction kits, if they are not shielded from the hot air that is circulating around the engine will actually hamper performance.

    What filter is recommended then to go in the standard air box?

    pipecross paper filters are prety good for direct replacement,,am currently savin for a-l tunings stage 3 package...£1900...takes the car upto 280bhp...live re-map...airbox..re-mapped gearbox..new manifold and performance exhuast...preety good price for an extra near 50bhp...

    That sounds good gap, I might save up and do the same. Makes sense to just do it all at once really.

    might do the filter though as its simple
