I was just wondering if any one can recommend any tuning products which work for E46 325i's such as induction kits and the like? Are there any high end kits which work or is it a case of better off with a higher flowing panel filter and standard airbox?

On from that are there any ECU remap options that don't cost the earth?

I know it's asking a lot from an NA petrol but I'm interested to know.

I'd stick with a decent panel filter and a remap. Like you said there's not much point trying to tune a N/A engine.

Afe do a good cold air induction kit for the 325 there are a few others the best ones I have seen are from ca-at.co.uk. you can also get a remap from the venders on this forum which will only give you a little bit more power but will make it much more better/enjoyable to drive .
Often talked about if you wanted to go this far would be am engine swap to the 3.0 as this is 228 bhp to start with.... you would be looking at approx 1000 for engine and 500 for fitting. Think you would also need maf and throttle body then get ecu reflashed but I'm sure one of the venders on this forum would be able to help you with that .
    Hope this helps kenny

This depends on how crazy you want to go, But like John said, K n N air filter or an induction kit.

Your in wiltshire? Absolute audio in Amesbury can supply you with the kit to make a custom fit induction kit or get a generic one of the net.

As for remapping have a chat with Stu @Protint in Trowbrige near Westbury, very good and cheeper then most.

You can go along the lines of removing a silencer in the exhaust system and a decat pipe, performance cams, lighter wheels, How deep are your pockits,,,,,,

If you did get an induction kit make sure it has a good heatshield or if it doesn't get hold of one. There isn't a lot of room under the bonnet and where the induction kit goes there are radiator hoses so it will be warm which as you prob know is no good for making power. When I put my induction kit on I also removed half of the brake cooling ducting that goes through the front bumper to try and get some cold air flowing up towards the induction kit.

doesn't an exhaust and induction kit only really benefit if you have had a remap ?

No not rlly I don't think. I think you would get an induction kit and exhaust first, then get your car remapped to suite the induction kit and exhaust.

The BM wizard offers a tuning package for £500 all in this includes a custom remap and a generation 2 K and N Induction kit.

Expect gains for around 25bhp - I'm currently saving for mine!

I'm here for a good time not a long time

You will be struggling to find an exhaust system for a compact for decent money aswell supersprint do a cat back I think and that's a fortune. There are underdrive pullys which are about 200 quid think they have gains of about 5-8 bhp I think and they are upgraded coil packs that you can get for about 210 for all 6 I think. It all depends how deep your wallet is. There are then things like head ported and polished cams etc bit head alone is about 1500 for stage one I think and cams about 900.

remap from someone experienced i would use bw chiptune as you want to get the most out of it.
Also i know its off topic but these cars really need uprated arb's a strut brace and some decent suspension to handle well.
