    Hi there folks.

I'm new to this Forum and the old bimmer owners stuff.

I require some help, if anyones as kind enough too

I have recently purchase a 3seris E46 318ti compact. Now she's a lovely car and i love it to bits. Its in good condition and has Mspec 18" alloys on it so it looks quite nice too. Now i want to modify this little girl, i have found body kits and visuals.

But where i'm really having trouble is finding engine mods etc to increase the BHP/Performance. I'd like too get her too around the 200Bhp mark if possible. Used to own a Civic Type R and would like to keep pace with this if i can.

So could anyone point me in the right directions???

    Many many thanks

The 318ti has 140ish bhp so to get to 200 you need to find 60bhp.

How much money do you have available? The cheap route would be to carry out an engine transplant. To get an extra 60bhp from your engine is probably gonna set you back a good 6 grand or so. Turbo or supercharger would do the trick but they certainly don't come cheap.

If it will cost to much why not do what i did and buy a compact 325ti sport which gives you 196bhp

People said exactly the same to me when I transfered the M-power into my 318is... Why don't you just go and buy an M3

Where's the fun in just going out and buying a more powerful car???

My car was heavily modded at the time and the donor car came up for £1800... too good to resist.

Okay, some people may be fortunate enough to have a money tree growing at the bottom of their garden. I unfortunately do not.

My car has taken many years to get to the stage it's at now and although I wouldn't do it again I have loved every minute of working on my project. I'd like to think i've learnt a great deal along the way and I have most definately had a great deal of fun and satisfaction.

My car is unique and it's been created by me.......... .

Getting good hp increases out of the engine using normal tuning means is very expensive and for few gains.

    Best options are

1/ turbocharge it and get a large amount of hp (300+)

    OR//

    2. and the best option for ££ value.....do an engine transplant.

Swap a 325i engine in and get xx bhp extra far cheaper than by NA tuning means (naturally aspirated)
