Anyone have any opinions on the best set of coilovers for the E46 3 Series? Looking for around a 50mm drop on 18's with a 8.5 offset.

    Cheers Guys

If you only want to drop 50mm why not get a suspension kit..?

    Whats your budget?

Are you looking for a good/comfortable ride or good track ride/performance?

I want adjustable shocks so springs alone wont do it. I dont really have a budget, dont want to spend more than a grand on coilovers and an anti roll bar.. I'm looking for a sharp, responsive drive, it'd be nice if it was still comfortable, but beggars cant be choosers.

Too get coilovers with adjustable dampening and a good anti roll bar kit for less than a grand is going to be pushing it..

Eibach ARB kit is over £300 on its own.. that leaves £700.. not going to get good coilovers with adjustable dampers for that unfortunately.

I'd say get GAZ coilovers but thats going to be over budget..

You can get AP coilovers coilovers with damper adjustment for £711 on venom motorsport so that may be your best bet on the budget your on with an ARB kit!

basic kit is a hottung coilover, non adjustable. i had these on my old compact and it really imporoved the whole car,so much fun to drive.
my 328 touring has HSD coilovers and is a much better car for me,more track/drift focused and is adjustable, driftworks are doing a group buy on HSD stuff at the moment.
think these come with adjustable top mounts if i'm not mistaken.

these ones you will be getting.

that HSD group buy is an awesome deal.. if I could get a guarantee that 40 people would stump up there cash and we would get them coilies for £560 I'd be well tempted!!!

The ones on my car as simply brilliant,it was owned by superclarkey on the site who is sponsored by driftworks, and naturally has these on them and its set up for a very grippy front end that you can push and has lots of feed back, and a loose arse end for... well... drifting nicely.

my hottuning compact was very good for the money and time i spent setting up and if the budgets tight theyre perfect, but if youre serious about drifting/racing/track day stuff then you need to spend more and get the adjustable type suspension.

coilovers give massive boost in handling/feed back and cornering speeds, but its a compromise on comfort.
that said both are very good for a daily, the touring is set well low and rides the speed bumps and potholes very well, just a little bouncy at low speeds
