The 323i Has a 2.5 littre engine and i think you can fit the manifold of an 325i and you will be up to 192bhp. You can get that with 250 quid i think.
    My BMW history= E36 318IS, 323I,Mini Cooper, E46 320 D SE and now E39 530D. awesome

Sell it and spend the extra money you would have spent modifying it on a 328i or 330i.

If i were you i wouldnt waste my time chasing bhp's with that engine, you will always be left wanting more and pissed off at what youv spent for the low hp youv gained. Id do the easy bits(filter remap etc)and leave the rest alone and spend the money getting the car driving better, with a short shifter and so on. things that dont cost a fortune, you can do yourself and wich youl notice every time you drive the car.

Nope, thats the E36 youre thinking of. The M52TUB25 thats in the 323 is a different beasty.

OK, you want 200 horses? its going to take some thought and some moneys!! Get it dyno'd now. Find out what you have to start with and it'll let you know if your flogging a dead horse.
Get friendly with the dyno house cos youre going to be spending a few notes with them!!
There is a rumour doing the rounds that the 330 manifold is the one to go for here as it isnt restricted like the M52 one is. Not sure as i've only seen proof of it working on one car on this forum, everyone seems to shy away from playing sillybuggers with the 323...

Personally, i think that you might be better off sorting the handling and the stopping more than adding horses.
Sort out the shagged bushes and the shocks with too many miles on, change the anti roll bars (yes, shockingly they make them for the 323!!!! ) for something that actually does what its supposed to, get a 330 brake conversion with new disks n pads, braided hoses and service that M52!

A decent brake kit has got to be worth at least 10hp, hasnt it? if you make it do its job properly then look at adding horses, you'll have the ability to reign them in and use them.

Hope that helps without sounding like a knob! Thats the way i'm going with my 323 'loon, but one bit at a time.

    Your car is a e46 323i with a ms42 Ecu
It's a 2.5i engine keep your orginal Ecu don't swap it for another
What you need is more torque to make your car pull better and faster with better mpg as well
There is a big difference if these are tuned right
