    Hi
I got a stainless steel back box fitted yesterday from RMS in prestwick.

The job looks good , but the noise at 2500 revs when driving is awful , to be honest i phoned them and the guy was very nice said let it settle for a couple of hundred miles , ????? noy really sure i think it will make any difference.

I have a feling the back box is too small and (cheap) any ideas ??
any ideas what to do or fit ?
    thanks .

    define awful
exhausts do need to bed in and will mellow with age
having said that...i'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for with aftermarket exhausts
i know the choice is a bit narrow on our e46's but it would've been better to plump for the scorpion maybe.

i had a jetex on a mk2 xr2 that was like that when i was younger...totally ruined the car.
these days most aftermarket exhausts have a much more subdued note...when the exhaust isn't tailored for the car then all bets are off...as you've found :(
