    Hey guys,

I've done EGR off and had a good remap done. What's do others typically do next? Front mount intercooler? 535d injectors? Bigger turbo?

Mine is the 1999, 181 bhp model - remapped to around 220 bhp. I want to know the best incremental path to follow for maximum power and torque on stock internals.

My thinking would be front mount intercooler, then 535d injectors then upgraded turbo and exhaust. What's your recommendation?

Coming on 15 years old and probably 100-150,000 miles I doubt your internals would last long at much more than 220Bhp.

My best advise would be to look at changing your engine to the 330d 204bhp from a e46
Then with a remap alone you would be looking at 280bhp 80-100ft extra

This would be a lot cheaper to do and further mods would improve the power

Nah, I don't fancy doing an engine swap path. The best power gains can always come from fitting a bigger engine, I'm not interested in that.
I'm going to follow an incremental upgrade path with the engine I've currently got. That way I can add power in small stages. Cheers for the suggestion though.

I'll report back in this section on what I do next.

if your thinking of changing the turbo etc wont that need to be remapped again to suit the upgraded bits? i was under the impression that if your tuning and changing bits then a remap should be the last thing you do?

Yeah, to suit the different air coming in or to add more boost if the new turbo can handle more than the stock turbo.

/me has the equipment (Galletto, MPPS, BDM, Willem), the tuning software (WinOLS), the map pack for my ECU and ECU tuning colleagues - so mapping won't be a problem.
