Hi y'all. Anyone got some advice on what air filter to use or avoid on my 2000 530d?. It's been remapped to approx 220bhp, and it's mostly economy I'm after as I do 130 miles a day. Been a fan of K and N's in the past but I know theres much more available now.
Anybody else on here from the Fife area?. Cheers.

BMC are usually pretty good. you dont want anything too oily mate as it'll kill the MAF

Cheers guys. Heard about K&N killing MAF's a few years back, still put one on my '98 Golf TDI and had no probs (it now does 60 mpg due to 180000 miles on the clock!). Will go for it again and report back.

ive been tuning diesels for a few years now and generally stay away from k&n as they are very expensive for the quality of the mesh they use ......but........
ive just fitted one to my 330d e46 touring and its working really well....
ignore all the oil stories you hear also as this is now nonsence....reason bieng
years ago k&n suplied oil with the filter for you to lube it with periodically they found that people were lubing up and drowning the maf in oil....
so now they only lightly oil the filter prior to selling to stop the metal eliment from rusting...the amount of oil on the filter wouldnt even get close to the maf.
