If you are using a manifold that I've converted, it drops straight into the original m52 fitting.

Yes I can px your manifold for one that's been properly converted without the T pieces etc. It's an oem type fit. Drop me a pm if you want details. This costs £185 and is easily the best way of fitting an M50 manifold

You have 3 ways to fit the m52 temp sensor to a m50 manifold

1 buy a machined m50 manifold which uses the m52 base of the manifold where the m52 temp sensor is push fitted in cost about £400 to buy

2 cut a thread on the m52 sensor so it will replace where the m50 temp sensor fits

3 remove the push fit vacuum connector part on the m50 manifold
If you remove the straight part of the m52 temp sensor so its then shorter it will push fit in place of the push fit Vacuum connector with a new o ring

You can then cut a thread on the push fit Vacuum connector you removed and screw in where the m50 temp sensor fits

I have a good few m50 manifolds about that are Standard and machined ones so can takes some pics if needed to show you

Hi all. Sorry to jump in.

New to BM's always been into vw's till a drag strip opened up near where I live

I have recently bought a 323i with an m50 fitted and it runs lumpy when hot. I have checked for vacuum leaks and can't find any. After reading a few threads on here it would seem I have the wrong temp sensor fitted. Would it be possible to put some pics of what its meant to look like.

    Thanks in advance

    James

The difference is the m50 is a screw in temp sensor and the m52 is a push in type
