Does anyone know of a manufacturer that makes engine damper struts for the E36?

There are loads around for Nissan 200sx / Skylines & Honda civics etc. but I can't find one for the E36 coupe (It's a 328i Sport by-the-way)

    Why do you need one?!

You could always make something - use one from a Jap engine and make some custom mounting brackets

Engine is twisting under acceleration and the manifold is catching the steering knuckle slightly (quite scary when the steering locks in whatever direction you happen to be pointing, under hard acceleration!)
I should add - this is not a standard 328i sport...
Not quite finished yet, but turbo is now properly fitted, set-up and running, just ironing out some of the kinks...

would it not be better to uprate the engine mounts first before using a dampner strut?

I did think of that, but not sure how much difference it would make - any recommendations on manufacturers/suppliers of uprated mounts?

Hi ya, it might be worth trying turner motorsport for some uprated engine and transmission mounts. You could get the M3 ones from a stealer obviously.

    M3 mount

    Group N Mount

Uprated transmission mounts (e46 M3 Mounts)

Or if you want to be shacken to pieces and deafened every time you get in the car

Loving the idea of this solid mount kit - not sure it'll be practical in everyday use though...

I think I'll start a wanted thread for an M3 bottom mount...
Just worried as the car is a genuine 328i sport, so will likely have as strong a mount as the M3 has, so might be a waste of time (and money)
    Might check on realoem first...

According to realoem - the rubber bush is a different part number on the 328i & the M3 so possibly might be stiffer & reduce torque roll.

the 328 sport has the same engine mounts as the rest of the 6 cylinder range
click on the part number to get the list of what the mount was used on

On eurocar parts - it is a different product code & quite a big difference in price for the M3 mounting...
