    Evening All,

Ive just aquired my 328i Coupe, its a nice enough car that looks tidy, however id like to free up some more power.

Ive normally had E39 M5's so power has always been there.

Can anyone recommend some uprades that dont cost 1000's and where i can get them. Ive read various articles on M50 manifolds, bigger throttle body remaps etc.

    Thanks in advance

well as you already know you can do the M50 manni swap which gives you more top end BHP but you loose some low end torque.
most people will also add the BBTB, induction kit and remap it after.

there are other bits you can do like-
    viscous fan delete
    US M3 cams
    LSD
    bigger injectors
    lighter body panels

but you could spend thousands on upgrades and then wish you just bought a M3 in the first place.

well they are a straight swap but finding some will be a mission and very expensive.
you might be better off going for some aftermarket cams if you think you need them.

Coming from an e39 m5 which I've had,its pointless realy trying to up the power on your 328. M3's are dirt cheap these days.

Yeh as tim said, you can easily spend £3k trying to get m3 performance but for that money you can get an M3 which would be loads better.
I would just do the m50 manni, induction kit and remap, or sell it and get an M3

yeah m3s are dirt cheap but after buying a dirt cheap M3 and trying to keep a dirt cheap M3 on the road and restore it to good condition the ( dirt cheap ) price tags will begin to fade from memory as a new series of pains in the arse rears its ugly head quite possibly.

M3 us cams are like gold dust i was on teh verge of goig for a set of shrick cams from the states before deciding to throw the towel in with M52 tuning and finaly go for an S50 swap instead.

mods wise one thats quite often over looked but if im fair its my favorite of the all has to be the 3.0ltr M3 lsd much such a differnce from the gash open diff in terms of traction from a standing start in teh wet even the snow sometimes, withs its shorter ratio 3.15 it shorters the final drive down shortening the gears in essence and technically it does not give you any more bhp but it does give the feeling of more ower with the gears shorter its a good bit quicker threw the gears and makes the 328 pull like a train at motorway speeds also
