Since we are on the topic , what is the best setup I can make on the rest of the exhaust?

I only have bought the manifolds from the M3 that wont fit the 25/28i exhaust.
Read a lot on the internet and searched for full exhaust system for the m3 from supersprint and some of them have a X-pipe others dont.
Any one with experience on what is best?
Here in my country its probably cheaper to make a full stainless steel exhaust hand made then to buy a M3 full exhaust system , so since Im going to make it I can do what is best for power and sound

    When i fitted the m3 Evo system to my 323. I weighed both systems. The 323 system is slightly different to the 328, but you get the idea;

    Manifolds x2

    M52: 5kg
    S52: 6.9kg

    Center section

    M52: 13.5kg
    S52: 19.6kg

    Backbox

    323i single pipe: 13.6kg
    Evo Staggered twin: 22kg

    Total weights
    323i system 32.1kg
    Evo system 48.5kg

    Great info!

The center section is the part where I will take more weight from it since it is only going to have a X pipe nothing more. I just dont know what backbox to use , a stainless steel one hand made is too much noise , I had one on my TDI and it was too loud cant imagine in a proper engine

I will search my "data" and post some pics here of what I intend to do.

Well... I was going to do it... but its money for me at the moment... only found the 3.2 Evo manifolds going for around £200 and wanting to buy a miltek system... as it would be lighter than a standard one!!! Dont know how true that is tho...

Would be interesting to see what dyno results are given!

1 year after this I finally have decided on the exhaust to use.

    S52 manifolds + Supersprint center section 784302 + S52 Back box.

From what I read SS center section weights 12Kg and since I have a mix of M50 and M52 exhaust system I will probably add little to no weight.

I also dyoned my car before all mods started so will have a good way to test the difference.

Wow! 30hp with a remap? Or is that after all mods?
Mine dynoed 218hp with m50 manifold and m50b25 BBTB stock ecu.
Will dyno after exhaust fit and remap but dont expect the +30hp or that will bring me to the 250hp range.

To get 240/250 bhp you would need us cams surely?
