    Hi

I want to get a little more omph put of my old 1996 328i touring.

I've just PM Alpina527 about the M50 and BBTB upgrade, however have also seen several people talk about a Dave F air induction system, I couldn't see his contact details anywhere?

What other cold air indiction could I look at? Is it even worth it or should I just replace the stock panel filter with a better one?

Any other good modifications without going as far as turbos etc.

The stock air box with e freeflow filter is pretty good as it is. Just make sure you remove the snorkel in the front of the airbox where the air comes in.

A Cold air intake is better in theory but they do give a lot of induction roar which you may or may not like.

Alpina, cheers for the PM I'll have to save my pennies this month as spent a fortune getting the lady road worthy!

As for a freeflor filter, what do you recommend? And why remove the snorkel doesn't this provide call air from the front of the car?

The Dave.F is the best filter system around if you can find one. I don't think they are being made anymore, but there are a few second hand units around.

The snorkel is located in the air box. It's not the concertina pipe that sits between the airbox and front of the car.

If you remove the airbox and concertina pipe, you will see an oval venturi going into the box. Stand the box on it's back and you can hit the retaining lip with a screwdriver to release it. Then put the box back into the car without it
