Hi, i have a 199 e36 323i, its completely standard, i would like to get a few more hp but i dont want to do the manifold conversion as ive heard mixed reviews, but to start things off was thinking about getting a remap? Is it recommended or wont i see much difference? also if i was to go ahead with a remap and exhaust ect do people recommend a cone filter or just a performance panel filter in the original box?

    Thanks

chip or remap are the same, it is all dependent on your ECU model.

in general Pre 1995 early 1996 is chip, after is a remap.

(maybe different for 323i, im not 100% in this ECU type and models)

In this case, a remap would give bigger gains in the lower end of the revs, the usual driving range, and the M50 manifold gives better gains at the higher end.
For usual day to day driving, you probably won't be going much over 3-4000rpm.

ah great, i always felt it was a little sluggish untill it started to it around 3500rpm! ive just looked at your website and would look into doing that. Im going to be changing the exhaust on it, i guess its best to do the exhaust first and then the remap?

There's no major need to get them done in any order, but if you're thinking of an exhaust, it's probably best to start right away scanning through ebay to pick up a bargain.
