Can I swap the m54b30 crank and pistons to give a 3.0 capacity ? Is this a straight forward swap and which shells and rings shall I use ? Also could i raise compression slightly whilst head is off perhaps a skim and/or thinner cometic gasket ?

Will lamda and maf sort the fueling out ok or will I need a rolling road map ?

    Cheers

M54 3 litre is not the same engine as its M54 smaller cubic brothers, it has an M3 derived crankshaft for starters..wot you are proposing is quite ridiculous to say the least...M52 is not even the same genus of engine and stroke even tho they are all related by evolution...

wot about the manifolds, injectors, head and valves, exhaust, double vanos etc etc?? no use going bigger if ya gonna strangle its breathing and to me its a waste of time and money when ya can just buy a cheap 328TU engine and put it in it...

the pistons are the same size aswell so why bother? its just a longer stroke with a modified crank etc to get the displacement cos thats how the 3 litre displacement on the 330 is acheived in the first place...

i still cannot see the point of this would prolly cost 3 times as much in time and money as just putting a bigger engine and the gubbins in, and it wont even give an output anywhere near a 330 output at the end of it....just stick a 328TU engine in it, it will be more or less similar output that yad acheive with the proposed 330 idea with none of the time, money and aggro....
