hey i was just wanted peoples advice on gettin the most out of a 318. i know the 318s are slow as anything and will be boring compared to my rs turbo and astra gsi but i need something safer and abit bigger as mini me is born soon and i am 18 so insurance is a killer on bigger bmw engines. i have the money to do alot of stuff but i have just had a quote for £3000 just for the labour to fit a 3.2 evo engine and i dont fink its worth the money. is there any way to get decent figures from the 318 ??

    328i engine swap.
    £500 for engine and box
    £500 ish for labour

The best way to get more power pound for pound by a long way.

insuring it legally will be possible through Bimmerforums about to be new insurers Adrian Flux..and it wont be much more of a premium than stock 318i with a 15% discount

find a breakers that have a 328 engine and box and chances are they'll have the calipers and caliper carriers there too.
black diamond discs and ds2500 pads completes the set up for well under a grand

You'd be wanting the front struts with springs ideally as the 328i will be heavier
