    Hi another noob here,

Just purchased 98 e36 316i compact. It's a nice little car, of course it's slow.

I want to tune it, and my budget is 1000 euro. I don't think that's enough to supercharge it and I heard turbocharging a 316i is a bad idea. Should i just keep putting money aside to supercharge it or are there any other ways to increase performance on my budget. What would some of you guys do to this car with the budget i have? Any advice or where i should start looking would be very appreciated, thanks

Wouldn't that be more than a 1000 euro budget?

Well that depends on how much you pay for one and who fits it.

You can't tune a M43 engine, you could supercharge it but it would cost alot more than an engine swap to do it properly and your engine will fail shortly after.
And it will never be as quick as a 2.8

You can remap the m43 engine gains around 10-12 Bhp but its the torque the makes the real differance
