i am looking into getting a 316 e36 over the next couple of months and i was just wondering how well they could be tuned, i wont be driving the car til november when im 21 but i still dont want the insurance to be throught the roof that why im looking at the 316. things i want to know are standard bhp and what i could get it up to after throwing a couple of hundred at it?
A standard e36 316i is around 100bhp, if it were me I'd drive the car and wait till you've saved the monies up and then upgrade the car to something faster.
Otherwise buy a 318is or 318ti, insurance shouldn't be too much massively more.
no mate, the 316 isnt worth tuning unless yor puttin a bigger engine in.
these people are right, save up pennies nd get a bigger engine car, considering yor gona be 21 soon, yor insurance will be A LOT cheaper thn mine.
if yor like me on the other hand nd not even 19 yet, thn put a big engine into the 316 nd not tell the insurance cos i ave to wait till im 21 to be able to get decent price insurance on a car with over 100 break
ok then i will start looking into the 318 and see the difference in price, if not though, i may just get the 316 make it look nice then swap the engine over when i can.
