Hi i've owned my bmw e36 316 for about a month after considering a panel filter on induction kit for some noise, i found a bmc style carbon induction kit around a bootfair, the person said they had it on a e36 320, i'm going to do a cai, before i fit could it damage the maf and would i need to install a heat shield.
I would do it then mate! I can't see it damaging the MAF, I think it's mainly KnNs that do this as they are covered in oil to help pick up particles. Run your finger on the filter, if it feels like a dry paper cone (you get the idea) then prob be fine.
Thanks for replying mate, definatly going to go for it.
Appreciate the advice.
