Ha ha ha! You are not kidding Steve! The more I read about the M50 conversion the more I like the idea to be fair...

It will be mad mate. They are so light compared with modern stuff. Make sure you keep us updated with any progress or ideas.
I did see a guy at santa pod last year with an E30 touring. He had an M5 engine in it!! It was a squeeze but by hell did it go!

Yeah - considered that but spoke with a guy in Northants that I bought my interior from. He ran a lovely e30 m3 (fully race prepped with Warsteiner Beer etc) amongst others and we discussed the 6 cyl M conversion for a touring. His buddy had done it but it was managing about 100 miles on a full tank!!

    100 miles to a tank
It just depends on what you want out of a car i suppose, something like that is a nice idea but a lot more hassle. For me a car has gotta be reliable and fairly easy to work on.
Stick with the 325 or 328 idea, least you get the best of both worlds

Totally mate - its a daily driver - not for Santa Pod or the track. I have a Sylva Leader for that kind of thing

Nice one. Looks like loads of fun. Those 1700 crossflows are well torquey.

Unfortunately she has to go! Hence the ads... Yes - the engine is a little classic.
