    ergh ...

comng from the world of Japanese cars were wastegate, BOV's, dump values whatever you want to call them all are a waste of time unless your running high boost pressure of have a BOV that doesnt leak under pressure.

Turbo cars (petrol) can run at a varity of PSI most lurking aound the 12 psi area and there have no need, in fact most cars are programmed to expect the air vented to be running back through the engine. a way of controlling emissions and stablising the engine i.e. not causing detonation etc etc etc

in short diesels run lower (i think/if i remember right) PSI than a petrol car... and do expect the air to be recurculated through the engine.

i cant see how it would benefit your car, in fact you may find, increased fuel useage and the ecu tries to compensate, a worn out turbo, and a lot of lag between gear changes...

Boost PSI in diesels is generally similar to petrol, or more likely higher. Diesel engine will take as much boost as you can ram down its throat whereas its not that simple with petrol.

Seriously, I wouldn't add a dump valve, they're really passe now. If you want a ptsshhh sound with any sort of gains, build/fit a high pressure intercooler spray. Similar sound, and of course, helps keep intercooler temps down for greater efficiency under high boost. Will post a how to when I get round to building mine

For a mere £300 you could add one of these....

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELECTRIC-T...item3a68ea5e7e

Hey it boosted the power of an E46 M3 by 40%!!!

or perhaps for £2.50 one of these

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-EXHAUS...item230e0d62f1

I am joking of course, they are all in the same league as a dump valve on a diesel. We did have somebody on the forum raving about his 20 watt electric "supercharger" once amazing what the placebo effect has on peoples brains.

If you are still determined to get your woosh noise, I have a 1st cat in the house with a leaky flexi joint that make a great dump valve sound, you are welcome to buy it off me!
