    are the standard maps on bmw's able to cope with using bp ultimate 102 octane and has anyone tried using it?
    £2.50ish per litre isnt cheap so not worth it im my eyes but wondered if anyone given it a go

    I have used 102 Sunoco, far better than anything I have had from a pump. £3.75/L tho. Not sure its worth it on a naturaly asperated engine for road use, but turbo + 102 Sunoco = pure sex in a tin. If the ecu isnt set to make the most of it tho you will actualy loose power as the burn is richer and air fuel ratios suffer costing power and economy.

    also, 102 RON has to be taken as an average with MON, MON is unprinted as we are programed to think about RON. (RON+MON)/2=Total calorific value. Sunoco has a very high MON too, not sure what you will be getting out of the pump. Also Sunoco is absolutely repeatable, pump gas normaly varies fill to fill, V power being the best for stability IMHO and experience.
