Had my car a few weeks now and coming from a stage 2 Golf GTI Edition 30 (320bhp) I am looking at remap options for the near future.

Car is an E91 330D LCI (245ps) Manual, looking for more power (Not hunting huge numbers necessarily) and slight economy improvement if possible.

My car mainly does 12-15 mile journeys on A roads a couple of times per week with a once every 2-3 months 800 mile round trip to manchester and back (From cornwall) and a once per year 2000 mile round trip to the Alps and back.

Wonder how the clutch copes with extra power as seen figures quoted on the forum for remaps from anywhere from 270bhp upto 335bhp, also considering DPF delete as with my short journeys im told the dpf could block up and not be able to re-gen, the car is going in to have a small health check at a BMW specialist in 4 weeks time to check everything before the trip to the Alps in Early April. I am doing a 950 mile round trip this weekend to manchester and back (Via Norfolk) so hopefully it will re-gen at some point, if not chances are the thermostats need changing.

Have seen on forum about hidden menu thing and am waiting for my log book to arrive so I can get my code to see temps when on a run.

Any tuners recommended in particular and what sort of power/economy is available and also costs for remaps etc.

    Thanks

Not sure on the 330d but my 530d with the same engine was remapped, i also had the DPF and car removed. You can get some great resaults and with some tuning mods can be taken well over the 300bhp mark, But doing this will bring problems to your diff, fly wheel, clutch etc etc....

My 530d with no cat or DPF and a custom exhaust system went from 232bhp to 250bhp Before the remap, this was tested on a rolling road, then it was mapped, the map removed and then remapped again on a rolling road, i wanted to keep the BHP under 300, the resaults were 289.6bhp and 556lb tourque
