had k&n induction kit with heatshield in my 306gti6...lost power,,sounded great..had simota indctin kit in my 330c msport...no power gain..then tried a bmc induction kit..didnt even fit,was told it i straight on job...no chance so sent that back too...you will get suprb sound with an induction kit but i have found throo dyno testing that i lost power...youmay hear that with a re-map..exhaust and induction kit you will get increases but this will be mostlydown too the re-map and exhaust..tho personally i have been told the standard stainless exhaust on the 330 is not worth chainging as they are very good

the exhaust is worth changing as aftermarket systems have no silencers, and with mine, no 3 & 4 cats. So it does make a difference, not a huge difference on power but in the grand schemes of things every bhp helps towards your goal.

An aging engine doesn't necessarily loose any power, often they remain the same if looked after, sometimes they even gain power as the rings bed in better and better.

Jamee, I think you're being a touch optimistic with your power increases. For example, an Alpina B3 (3.3L from being bored) that has lightweight pistons, gas-flowed head, cams, custom crank just manages 280bhp... if your running your car without a CAT then that's not road legal, so it'll fail an MOT and any road side checks.

Rich, the 330 has 4 cats, i have removed the 2 cats from the rear, the main 2cats being in the front of exhaust system, it still passes the MOT as had the emissons tested the other week.
Like i said, each cat removal is going to give you approx 5bhp gain, milltek exhaust system maybe 3bhp, bryf induction 4/5bhp, cams and a remap should give me around a combined gain of approx 28/30bhp alone as you get more bhp gains from remaps on modded engines, (they say 10% on standard engines, so thats 23bhp from a 330).
So when combined with the 15/18bhp from the other mods, it should be around the 280bhp mark, if its a bit less, so be it, it should drive alot better.
