    I've run a E90 320d from two years (08)

I do a lot of motorway miles and like to cruise at a decent speed!

Are there any sugestions how I can increase fuel economy ? I'm really not that impressed with the figures achieved.

The car is in excellent order having had a recent full service...Including full scan done.

Any suggestions will be very appreciated...

They may seem obvious but lots of people don't consider them.

    1. Make sure all your tyre pressures are checked regularly

    2. Don't carry lot's of junk around in the car / boot

    3. Ensure your car is well serviced with an air filter and crank case breather filter that have been changed at the prescribed intervals

    4. Remove and clean your EGR valve

    5. Check your coolant system temperatures (BMW diesel engine thermostats are prone to failure leaving the engine running too cool and over-fuelling to compensate)

    6. If all else fails consider an economy remap

The economy on modern diesels isn't great IME. I had a brand new merc C230 as a hire car in Germany a few years ago and the economy was terrible for a diesel...

Has it got a 6 speed box? That would help.
