    Hi,

I am looking push the car up to 250hp. From reading through the forum, it seems that the best way to go would be with an exhaust and a remap?

I was looking at the scorpion full exhaust system, has anyone tried this?

i reckon you should look at supersprint/eisenmann or a really good custom jobe to maximise power also try an itg panel filter. be very careful who does the remap too as most gain very little power.

ive actually done the gold tee mod, and the volume i already loud enough for me, so i think ill save my money on the exhaust. its already stainless steel anyway. I dont think ITG make a panel filter for the 330ci, ive checked on their website. Is it worth considering cold air intake (ram air)? I have booked in to do a remap with BW on Saturday, but unsure whether to go for the power and economy map, or the straight power. I drive quite aggresively, but I dont want to end up doing like 15mpg or something. at the moment I getabout 23mpg the way i drive.

ive seen some interesting products in the total bmw mag- this Synionic - Surface Modifying Lubrication Technology engine treatment. any experiences with this sort of thing? my cars got 85k miles and it ticks, so i thought this might help.

Wait til you meet Jason and then talk to him about your requiements from the remap. All will be good and you'll be happy with the results. He actually can make power from these!

Don't be fooled into thinking any thing like scorpion, jetex etc will give you power gains!! bmw exhaust systems are already super engineered and will be in most cases better at releasing the power flow than any after market exhaust. its only the likes of the full system eismman that will see you gain a little, and i meen a little bit and thats with other mods. a green cotton filter and a remap will give you about 8bhp. real world. do the clutch stop, add an m3 alloy bonet and lose your spare wheel. do a little bit of weight saving and you are getting bhp per ton for free! only make to make any bmw petrol better is a supercharger. 2k second hand. 280bhp, with potensial for 300+

thanks mate, I agree with you about the exhaust. What you you think about a BMC carbon induction kit? it seems like it hooks from the throttle body to the original air intake at the front, but should increase airflow by quite a lot, along with some good sound I presume. The carbon should keep the air cooler too.

as long as it is sheilded from the engine bay heat it should help with breathing if you have a remap with it! i dare say the sound will be more of a growl than a mass of extra power.
