    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to mention that since having the aggressive tune by BW chiptune, that I was very pleased with in terms of performance, I had it switched to the all-round tune at the same place, in order to get better fuel economy (averaging 25mpg with aggressive tune). I have to say that overall I recommend the all round map, as you get slightly better than standard fuel economy (28mpg in general, over 30mpg on the motorway) due to the increase in torque, but also coupled with better performance. In the aggressive state of tune it was very fast, and in many ways difficult to dose the power, but with this map it is the perfect balance. I have done 3000miles since the tuning was done, no problems to report. These guys are very professional, and I trust them over BMW to look after my car.

    Hi barnboy.

I am interested in gaining a bit more midrange power. One thing that gets me is that I already get 41mpg on the motorway and 29.9 with mixed driving with the occasional blast. I'm very impressed with the 330i engine. Have you got a before and after dyno read out ? I don't doubt what you say but having many years of tuning a Fiat coupe 20vt, I like to have proof that something is actually doing something to improve my car.
Also how much and where did you get this done?

    Regards

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

I'm surprised that you manage 29.9MPG average, is that from tank to tank? If you test it, the only real test is to fill up and reset the milometer, drive until empty and refill, and seee how many miles you got from the quantity of petrol. Otherwise the figures can be squewed. Anyway, I don't have a dino readout, but basically it really affect the way the car drives. In standard form it can feel a bit dull, but the tuning livens it up. I'm not sure how it works but I think it is related to the timing and fuel, as well as many other factors. You are better off asking Jason this or going to see him.

Barnboy had he's car remapped by Jason@BWchiptune who is based in Hounslow. He's number is 07831 103030.
If you give him a shout, he'll probably have a dyno print out that he can email to you. Just bear in mind that performance figures aren't the end all of tuning a car, a lot of what Jason does is to make the car better & more enjoyable to drive thoughout.
