So would it be a better idea to upgrade the clutch and flywheel prior to the remap? Upgraded exhaust systems already on the cards. Struggling to find a rear diffuser for the M-Tech II rear bumper that'll accommodate a duel exit exhaust system, any ideas welcome, looking like i'm gonna have to get this made or the standard one altered at this rate...

Thanks for that bud, how do you rate your motor now compared to before?

First of all thanks for the in-depth replies! Great!

I have been delighted with the car, just love it... but... I couldn't help noticing a small drop in power lately (Maybe I'm just getting used to it!). Also, my MPG seems lower than most of you guys, I mainly drive on B roads and get around 34mpg (29mpg flooring it) but even a 300+ mile round trip on motorways only saw 38mpg... I understand it's a three litre lump but can't understand why are other folks getting better?

So that's how I ended up here.. and what a wealth of info there is too!

With regards to making sure it's well looked after, I got a one year warranty from the dealer so all the little niggles I found are now gone. If you could suggest anything else please do... but here's my plans.... so far! Parts are in the mail

    Oil Change,
    Vortex type oil breather
Oil, Air, Pollen and Fuel filter replacement
EGR valve disconnect (And clean anyway while i'm there)
Clean Intake Manifold while it's off and replace seals
Swirl Flap blanks (I know I didn't need to buy them now, after paying for them! Lol!)

Then the remap... Think 280bhp'll do nicely for me, the cars fast enough already just want that little bit extra, not enough to ruin it!

Anyway, cheers for the advice, appreciate it.. Just if there's anything else you can suggest, let me know!

    Thanks
    Andy

P.S Any thoughts on Angel Tuning?
im the same, you get used to the power after a couple of weeks, and mpg is down coz i probably give it more bursts of lovely torques, also my front right caliper is binding on a bit, time for a new one with some discs and pads
