    Hi all,

I have a contact through work who says they'll make me a replacement exhaust (from the cat back). The guys done this before, all I have to do is supply the drawing to work from and boxes. Off my own back I've also sourced the tube.

I only really want to see performance increase through increased airflow via the smother inner wall of the pipe therefore I've opted for a 50mm Grade 304 S/Steel Tube which is only marginally larger in diameter to the standard fit.

Can anyone recommend what boxes to fit which won't sound like a fat sl*g after a curry? Also any ideas where I may find drawing to work from or is it just a case of taking off the original and saying 'copy'?

any info anyone can offer would be great,

    Thanks Matt.

The exhaust on a BMW isn't usually that restrictive, they are pretty good from standard fortunately/unfortunately, so getting a exhaust made up will only benefit you with maybe a very marginal improvement in BHP as long as the person building it is skilled in doing it.

If you are having it built for the sound then also you need to be careful like you say you don't end up with a car sounding like a ships horn

You would have to take the measurements off the exhaust on your car, best to do it when it's fitted so you know what clearances you have.

Alternatively you could contact Powerflow and have them make you one http://www.powerflowexhausts.co.uk/
