A 318 is never going to be quick to be fair. The amount you could spend on an air filter, an exhaust and a remap could be the price difference between a 318 and a 320.

The 318 is never going to be an M3 unless you spend M3 money, in which case you should just buy an M3!

Spend your money on quality maintenance and don't worry about bolt-ons that claim to add 10 BHP, they seldom do.

power valve booster £100 or maybe abit less and get sprint booster £200 that do abit of increase in acceleration

fast road cams would improve but i cant seem to find any for a e46 318i

also do a remap ecu aswell which is about £200 depending where you get it done

Yeah, simple mods on a simple engine. Air, exhaust and maybe a remap. Best thing about a 318 is that without the 318 stuck on the back and some nice wheels, body mods you've got the looks without the running costs. That's why I bought mine, 36mpg and cheaper to run than my last Mondeo... You could always just invest in an M3 ;O)

    hey everybody on bimmer forums!!!

just bought an e46 316i last week, and im really in love with the car. I know its only the smallest BMW model of this type at the moment, but im still in college - i have to watch the pennies before i can buy a bigger one!!!

can anybody give me advice on tuning parts for it (or if there is any for this model). Would a remap of the ECU make much of a difference???

    thanks for any help!!!!
