Just thought I would put a post up to say thanks very much to Jason and the guys at BW chip tune for remapping my 318 today, its a totally different car!

Its an 04 reg 318ci sport convertible and I was tired of the car being sluggish and trying to stall on me when you pull away in 1st gear without enough revs.

After the remap it has a noticeable performance difference and it has no flat spots where there no power. The main thing is that when you pull away its so nice because it doesnt require you blipping the throttle and being worried its going to stall on you.

Jason though it had added around 15bhp roughly, so its almost the same power as a 320ci now. It is a totally different car to drive.

For anyone considering a remap, I would definitely recommend it and don't hesitate contacting Jason at BW chip tune to improve your car!

Also, My fuel economy has increased by 1 or 2, I was expecting it to drop but I have been driving it harder than before and it still returns better mpg!

Hmm, what could you do for a 318i M43?
Would it be worth it/how much would it cost?

A mate of mine recently admitted that he was a brake fluid addict! When I quizzed him about it he insisted that he could stop any time.

    15bhp?? really?

I'd be interested to see your car on a dyno because normally with remaps on NA car's they just change the torque curve to kill the flat spots and make the car feel quicker..

Seem to get conflicting information on NA remaps depending on who you speak to.. Something i've considered on my 325ti but then talk myself out of it..

You can still get extra hp out of them, I looked into getting my 1.9 m43 done and they gave me a figure of 10 hp and 15 nm torque

the main reason i had it remapped was not due to power but because the car was so un responsive and sluggish before, it would try and stall on you if you didnt give it loads of revs.

it has fixed all this now, it does feel quicker also.

with a 325 surely its nice enough as standard? a sweet 6 cylinder engine!

Yeah the 325 is ok but still lacks torque low down..

I've seen before and after remap dyno run graphs of bmw 6 cylinders and they just smooth out the torque curve. i.e bring some more of the power lower down the rev range which is how they kill the flat spots (I assume??)

Too be honest I'm quite happy to bollock my car when the mood takes me anyway so not that much of a problem because at high revs the 2.5 6pot is smooth, powerful and responsive.. if I was keeping the car long term maybe i'd remap it though
