Does the upgrade in power not affect the clutch? Im picking up my 118d from repair on saturday and have been considering the remap for a while but was worried about the extra torque eating the clutch...

Most if not all BMW clutches are nicely over-engineered.

If you look at the VW tuning scene, stages are done which vary depending on what clutch is being used. BMWs can usually be tuned up to the limit of smoke or the turbo without problems.
On other marques, you'll find that they often have to stop short until a stronger clutch is used.

I've stuck a DT UK in-line chip in my 118d and it's transformed it. It's smoother and pulls like a train through the gears.

Too early to say yet what the fuel consumption changes might be, but based on my journey down the motorway, it's going to be an absolute joy.

I'll post back when I know a bit more.

You'll need to measure MPG the old fashioned way of tank to tank, as the mpg gauge on the car is affected by the chip.

This is a 2010 118d 143bhp we remapped Which is the same as the 320d 143bhp

When these 118d 1st came out they where £4000 cheaper to buy that a 120d 177bhp so a lot of ppl save a lot of money by buying the 118d and Us Remapping them
