Any reccomendations for a chip for a 2009 318d ? I have looked at superchips blue fin at £400 - are there any others that are good and what additional power and torque?

Hi Mate there are quite a few options out there for tuning these cars.
I have an old 525tds which i have a tuning box from DTUK fitted to it. All be it an old car the difference was surprising to say the least.
Im sure there are 4 or 5 suppliers of these out there, The best thing to do is ring them all and see what they say.

What about remapping or does it have to be a Plug & Play device?

If a plug and play device is what you are after then I can help you out with one of these. Or if you are after a remap where I would come to you or you come to me then I can also sort this out for you.
Please contact me at info@APTuning.co.uk or mobile 07930410102 and I will talk you through your options.
    Regards,

The Blue fin is a remap that can be reinstalled when you sell or take car in for service, mine is a lease car so I have to watch what i do - the Blue Fin I believe increases fuel pressure giving same out put as a 2.0lt unit - 3 series blocks and ECU's are identical - the mapping is the only difference

I have had a bit of experience with EFI as I have a Street & performace TPI unit fitted to my 302cuin Ford unit which uses Ford Racing management - this has been a pain over the years and if anyone can help with this as well I would be eternally grateful - see here for details on my other ride

If the map can be installed and de-installed at your convenience I assume it also can be used on other vechicles with the same engine? i.e. someone elses E91 318d

BTW Hotrodder just checked out your website, that was some labour of love you went through to get the car painted to the standard you wanted.

    Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know if you have a 318D from June 2009 onwards Evolve and Superchips cannot offer the remap with the handheld devices yet. I got this info this month from Imran at Evolve and Dominic at Superchips. Imran mentioned they are working on this but no time-line for when it will be available for newer 318D's.

    Cheers,

    Mike

    not quite.
I think there is a different immobilser code in each one as well as the fact that software and hardware versions will often be different.
