    Hi Guys,
Last few months I'm trying to figure out which LSD will be the best for my car. It is the Z4 3.0si N52 (2008), and I've reduced choices on two products one is Quaife and the other is turner motorsport which is sold in UK by Simpson motorsport. The first one is cheaper cca 820 GBP but is very praised and advert. The second one is more expensive cca 1400 GBP but...what about the quality is it more money more honey? Which one to choose? The price is not the variable! Somebody has another suggestion? Please help!
    Thanks in advance!

What are the types? A quaife diff is a gear driven affair, and quite a bit different to the usual slipper plates that BMW use.

I think Mark @ vorny. co.uk has a quaife diff fitted.

Quaife have a good reputation...haven't heard much about turner motorsport one though.I guess the price makes more people choose Quaife

I wish I had, unfortunately I have the Dairy Milk standard one.
Quaife have a fab reputation. Have you had a chat with Birds, Uxbridge ? They have a significant knowledge on BMW's and LSD's

I haven't got a quaife yet, but I'm getting one for my E46 for my birthday, as I drove one with the diff and it made the world of difference.

Quaife BMW diffs are generally ATB (automatic torque biasing) diffs as opposed to lsd which I find makes them much more aggressive and it will almost instantly lock the wheel that is spinning, whereas an lsd will limit the amount of spin as opposed to stopping it completely. Also quaife diffs are indestructible and have a lifetime warranty if I recall...

    I know who I'm choosing!

Thank a lot guys! I will stick to Bird's Quaife lsd. I've already exchanged few mails with Mr. Bird, and it seems that is the best choice.

Bizarrely, they are considerably cheaper than a factory BMW unit....
