I am considering having a remap of my new 335d and would like opinions from anyone with experience or comments. Looking at the market there are several options, but it would appear everyone is going the DMS route.

Would I literally just be "mad" to go any other route than DMS? The only reason I am asking is there pricing is more than the competition.

Are there any major downsides with having a remap of the 335d except needing to replace the rear tyres every month? Are the gearbox and other running gear good for the extra power and torque?

Has anyone had a remap and had problems?

    All input gratefully received.

    Cheers
    Terry

    Hi Terry

I moved your post to the right section and retitled it to add the car...
For future reference techcnial questions for your car go in the s3 series E90 tech section

DMS are good. So are emaps although Im not sure if emaps can do an 08 335D

There is an addon box called the xede I think by a chap called Vishnu in the US and thats had rave reviews, but it was only because they couldnt remap the ECU itself at that time, due to it being heavily encrypted

I would go for the DMS remap as its tried and tested.

A well done remap will increase MPG and wont affect engine life etc

See the picture below for some comparisons between the two

hi, how much is it for dms to remap the car and what power do they put it up to, i was thinking of getting mine done but I've only had a quote from e-maps. they charge £395 and put the bhp to 350, I've heard good reports about them

Thanks guys - sorry for messing up the origanal post.

DMS are approx £850 + vat; although I think you can do a "deal" to reduce to £850 inclusive if you are lucky. I have been quoted the same figure as you quote from e-maps.

I believe both companies make similar claims, although DMS seem to have the edge if you read all the information online.

The big difference is warranty where DMS are ahead.

It's a close call since £500 difference approx is a high percentage.

I think DMS are about £650

Emaps are good and Simon knows his stuff... so if they can map your car I would go for them...

I have read a lot of good things about this company:

    http://www.upsolute.com/

They might be out of your way somewhat though... the uk dealer is in Derbyshire.

    169 mph, nice
