Hee hee you are very welcome. Lots of remappers offer "mild" remaps too, so if it is too much for you you can get some gain but tone it down.

I believe they can also take the remap off and restore it to it's original state if it doesn't all go to plan.

If your remap is anything like mine, you will waste a tank of fuel just blipping the throttle, and you will be smiling from ear to ear (until you refill - ha!).

    Good luck Turnerpa! Red :-)

    Hi Red,

But hey I'm not that old - 59 in July - [mild remaps tut tut tut!], I think I will go for it, full remap as the replies have been enthusiastic, also these days if you don't remap you can have all sorts of strange cars outperforming you, so I might as well follow your and others' good examples. My only concern really was engine and autobox standing up to the extra torque, but I think you are right maybe a greater concern could be that I will be using more fuel chasing everyone. I love it when people come up close thinking "oh its only a diesel" and then if there is a clear road I leave most people in the distance.

Have you any idea of likely cost for my remap? I thought from research around £350-400 seemed about right for my engine looking at other sites but emap didn't quote a price, well there was nothing I could see on their web site.

    Regards, Paul

There will be some additional strain on various engine and gearbox etc when you get a remap (it's been discussed many times!). However, if you don't floor it every single minute of every single day you will be fine.

You should be budgedtting for around 300. I can highly recommend forum vendor MotechMike who did my remap, and have only heard good things about Simon from Emaps (also a forum vendor).

I believe there is a remap special offer going on right now. You may be able to get it even cheaper..... Keep us posted young man :-) Red.

Cracking offer Mike, tbh I can't see many coming back for their original map once they've sampled their cars true potential
