I am quite happy with the economy I am getting 43MPG+ (mainly A road driving, not much traffic) but with the price of fuel at £1.40+ a litre, I was looking for an economy tune. I live near Hull and Eco Power tuning offer 3 tuning options:- Economy, mixed and performance. I would like a bit more power too so was wondering if the Mixed (economy and performance) type of remap would provide a decent gain in economy. Has anyone used Eco power, Hull and if so, where they happy with the results? Would spending £300 on a retune pay for itself within 3 years when I intend to upgrade? I do about 15000 miles a year and the car has 60000 on the clock. What sort of percentage increase in MPG have people who have had economy or mixed retunes obtained? Cheers.

Don't know about the company you have named but we typically see around 4-5MPG gains on full performance tunes! On eco maps this is obviously more, around the 6-8mpg. So if you do some sums, you'll be able to work out how long it will take you to get the money back. Some of the reps cars that I have tuned for economy, and who do approx 30K a year make their money back in around 6-8months at the prices I do for them.

Cheers for this. I will probably go for the mixed tune as 4-5MPG is good enough and I fancy a bit more power.

A re-map will really help with a gain on MPG.. Try fitting a free flow filter too.. That will help also make sure the car's tracking is 100% too....
    Thanks Mike

PLEASE READ THIS!! Mer Tech/ Eco Power Tuning in Hull are absolutely awful!! I had my bmw 5 series booked in for a DPF removal and remap. Car was book in at 12pm was told it would be ready around 5pm.. got there at 5 it had only just been put on the ramp! i finally got my car back at 9pm!! to still play full price. Turns out a few weeks later my car goes into limp mode because he had removed the CAT not the DPF!! shocking!! oh and the welding was full of holes. I had to take it elsewhere to pay again for the whole thing to be done all over again. I have had to threaten court to get a refund and i have only been given a partial refund, so am now missing a catalytic convener which i didn't want taken off! they have stopped replying to my emails and will not call me back! shocking... never been somewhere so poor with complete incompetence and no customer service.
